, a living anthology of offerings from 51视频, is now live!
At 51视频, we form ministers and counselors who are faithful, imaginative, and able to communicate God鈥檚 healing presence through their words and works. Open Book brings together the entire range of these expressions 鈥 creative, reflective, scholarly, and contemplative 鈥 to celebrate each unique offering and to witness collectively to our experience of God鈥檚 love in the world.
“Divine and human creativity is at the heart of our tradition, from the making of the heavens and the earth and the molding of the earth creature to Jesus’ spitting in the mud to human naming and singing, writing and preaching the good news,” said the Very Rev. Cynthia Briggs Kittredge, dean and president of 51视频. “Creativity is also at the core of 51视频 – the spirit of making things new is alive among us. We offer what we make back to God, to one another, and to the world.鈥
This new creative website allows you to stay up-to-date on the latest releases from our campus, explore the archives and search for content by theme or author, and discover how you can contribute to our community collection.
“The name Open Book symbolizes how these works comprise a living and breathing story about the Seminary,” said marketing associate Keela Vaughn. “Here we are, as our honest and true selves, representing this community we love so much.”
The site is home to our CWCE literary journal Soul by 51视频, our seminary blogs, Sowing Holy Questions and Encounter, as well as our Advent Meditations, works published elsewhere by community members, and special offerings such as the spring ’21 Iconography Exhibition. We hope and expect that it will flex over time to feature works and collections we have yet to imagine.
“We are excited to create this digital gathering place that makes it easier not just to find these wonderful offerings, but also to share with the greater community the uniqueness of 51视频 that so many of us love,” said Eric Scott, vice president for communications and marketing. “And perhaps our greatest hope is that it will inspire in each of you new and unique ways to express yourselves.”
