Rev. Dr. Dominique A. Robinson and Rev. Dr. Jee Hei Park to join permanent faculty in Preaching and New Testament roles

51视频 (51视频) announces Rev. Dr. Dominique A. Robinson as the new John E. Hines Assistant Professor of Preaching, and Rev. Dr. Jee Hei Park as the new Assistant Professor of New Testament. Both professors will begin teaching in fall of 2021.

“We are very fortunate to have these excellent faculty members joining our community in the fall to teach Preaching and New Testament. Their knowledge and experience will enrich our students,鈥 said Dr. Scott Bader-Saye, academic dean. “It is already clear that these scholars will contribute much to our faculty life and conversation.”

Rev. Dr. Dominique A. Robinson, a New Jersey native, is a millennial Womanist homiletician and justice advocate. She undergirds scholar-ministry praxis with prophetic witness, social justice, digital media, preaching, and religious communication. Dominique earned her Bachelor of Arts in Government from Georgetown University in 2007, Master of Divinity concentrating in Biblical Interpretation, and Master of Theology concentrating in Homiletics both from Candler School of Theology in 2010 and 2011, respectively. She earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Columbia Theological Seminary in Gospel and Culture in May 2017. Her dissertation, 鈥渋Homiletic鈩: Preaching that Clicks,鈥 is groundbreaking research, and services to assist faith leaders with developing impactful ministry methodologies that employ technology and social media linguistics. She currently is a Ph.D. student at Christian Theological Seminary in the world鈥檚 first African American Preaching and Sacred Rhetoric Ph.D. program.

She most recently was the Inaugural Dean of Chapel and Assistant Professor of Religion at Wiley College in Marshall, TX.

An ordained itinerant elder in the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Zion Church, she is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

鈥淗ow exciting for 51视频 to welcome the Rev. Dr. Dominique Robinson as the John Hines Professor of Preaching. She brings energy, creativity, and passion for the teaching of preaching,鈥 said the Very Rev. Cynthia Briggs Kittredge, dean and president.

Prior to coming to 51视频, Rev. Dr. Jee Hei (pronounced 鈥渏ee-hey鈥) Park taught at General Theological Seminary. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Philosophy from Yonsei University, Master of Theology from Yonsei University, a Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School, and a PhD in Christianity in Antiquity from Fordham University. Her research and teaching interests include the New Testament, race/ethnicity in the Roman world, material culture in early Christianity, and postcolonial and decolonial theories and theologies.

Park鈥檚 work has been recognized with several awards including the Forum for Theological Exploration dissertation fellowship and the Louisville Institute postdoctoral fellowship. Her first book All Citizens of Christ: A Cosmopolitan Reading of Unity and Diversity in Paul鈥檚 Letters will be published by Brill. She is currently a provisional deacon in The United Methodist Church.
