The 2016聽ASERVIC Research Award聽recognizes the outstanding activities of an individual who has helped advance the mission of the Association for Spiritual, Ethical and Religious Values in Counseling through research. Dr. Minnix holds a deep interest in exploring the relationship between counseling and theological values. Her dissertation study explored the process by which fifteen Christian mental health professionals went about successfully reconciling a perceived value conflict between LGBT affirmation and their religious beliefs.聽The findings produced a model of how reconciliation occurs, including strategies for supporting Christian students in various states of reconciliation.
